Job Level
Job level
you are eligible to apply for is the second most important parameter in getting
hired as freelancers on TERAWORK. While visibility means your profile can be
seen by clients, your job level ensures you are eligible to apply only for gigs
you meet or exceed the minimum requirements to deliver successfully. While all
freelancers start from entry level, your job level improves with more successes
in your freelance career and your strict adherence to TERAWORK’s platform
housekeeping rules to guarantee TERAWORK’s community safety, and premium value
delivery to clients and freelancers.
TERAWORK
scores each freelancer for Visibility and Job Level using metrics
such as your profile quality, total earnings, job invites, success rate, chat
violations, failed jobs, etc.
Useful Metrics
That Affect Your TERAWORK Freelance Profile
Profile
Quality
Your profile
as a freelancer is the very first things clients and TERAWORK’s algorithm will
interact with as it tells the stories of your freelance career at first glance.
The quality of your profile is highly important, and you should consider the
following to improve it.
Skill Description
Be it your bio,
profile title, your ‘About This Profile’ or relevant keywords you use,
everything you say here should clearly explain the value you offer. Your
profile title is your ‘digital elevator pitch’. It needs to tell clients
exactly what you do and what value you bring in under two (2) seconds.
Second, ‘About
This Profile’ is your freelancer profile description and it should be your sales
page. While your profile title grabs clients’ attention, your profile description
is where you convince the clients that you are the specific solution to their
problem. It should clearly articulate the problem you solve, why clients should
hire you over someone else or someone cheaper, use past achievements to lower
clients’ anxiety, and be realistic about your rate versus your value.
Competitive price is key because clients can easily compare your rate with
others who offer similar value. Lastly, tell them what to expect working with
you and how soon you can be available to start their gig.
Lastly, your
bio, ‘About You’, is specifically the space where you connect your human story
to your professional results. Start with why you do what you do, mention a few
specific backgrounds that make you an expert in your current field, if you
have, weave in social proof and accolades, such as your past place of work
(e.g., Ex-Google Engineer), awards, certifications, significant milestones
achieved, etc, to further improve profile quality.
Media
While your profile
description tells clients you are good, your multimedia shows them you are the
real deal. On TERAWORK, clients are scrolling fast. Here is what your
multimedia should ideally contain to stop the scroll once they reach your
profile.
1. A high-quality, professional headshot: People
hire people, not faceless usernames, let your headshot makes you appear
friendly, approachable and professional.
2. Profile Multimedia: Make the most of your four (4) multimedia slots
to maximize your profile quality. Recommendation is you include 3 highly
relevant images and a 30 – 60 second video to buttress the points you make with
your profile title and descriptions.

Job
Success Rate
Your
job success rate reflects how successful you have been so far in your freelance
career journey on TERAWORK. It’s a ratio of how many gigs you have completed
successfully versus how many gigs you have been offered. Improving your success
rate comes down to delivering quality work and meeting deadlines.
Total
Earnings
Total
earnings is one of the metrics that indicate freelancers that consistently
deliver results, and clients are happy to work with. Freelancers with a track
record of completed jobs and earnings are more likely to appear higher in
search results. If you are just starting out, begin with smaller gigs to build
experience and reviews. As you complete more projects successfully, your
earnings and visibility will gradually increase.
Job
Invites
Job
invites happen when a client directly invites you to bid for gig they just post
to the
WorkStore.
This means seeing your profile the client perceives you fit
their needs. Freelancers who receive more invites often gain better visibility.
The secret to higher job invites is high profile quality, strong work
statistics, competitive rate and your past clients’ rating and reviews.
Chat Rules Violations
and Failed Jobs
While focusing
on improving your profile quality, success rate, etc, it is equally critical
not to overlook the importance of following TERAWORK’s platform rules. Two very
highly critical metrics that can adversely affect your visibility and job level
are violating the TERAWORK’s platform chat rules or failing to
deliver quality work to TERAWORK’s clients. Breaking these rules is
synonymous to wanting no gigs or risking outright ban from using the TERAWORK’s
platform.
Chat rules violations: Occur when
freelancers break TERAWORK’s communication guidelines, such as attempting in any
form or agreeing with clients to move conversations outside the platform, sending
harmful contents such as in offensive or personal attack, bigotry, criminal,
mental health categories.
Failed jobs: On the
other hand, occur when freelancers are unable to deliver gigs at agreed quality
and timeline with clients leading to gig being marked as unsuccessful, and
client escrowed payment refunded. To avoid this, make sure you understand the
job requirements and have the competency to deliver quality job before
accepting the gig. The goal is not just to get hired, but to deliver jobs
successfully and build a strong reputation on TERAWORK.
Both chat
rule violations and failed jobs negatively affect your profile in one or
multiple ways, including reduced visibility, loss of eligibility to apply for
certain (lucrative) gigs you could apply for before, suspension, ban, or
closure of to your freelance account.
